Players selected to represent Team WN must wear our uniform and are expected to purchase their own shirts. Team jackets will be loan to each player for the season; Junior players will be loaned a playing shirt and a jacket for the season, and has the option to purchase their own. The Junior Under 13 and 15 squads is a development squad providing the opportunity for our young players to get a taste of competitive badminton. The squad members are expected to train a minimum of one on-court session on Monday 5.30pm-7.30pm AND one off-court physical conditioning session (day/time TBC).
Selected players are expected to compete in the Capital Region Novice Team Competition (18th April 2023). Players are also encouraged to compete in the regional sanctioned tournaments to further improve and gain early tournament experience. Focus for the squad is participation driven.
A group of players in U13 & U15 will also be selected for our performance squad, there players are also expected to compete in the NZ National Junior Team Championships (2-5 July 2023) and are strongly encouraged to compete in the regional sanctioned tournaments to further improve and gain tournament experience. There are also encouraged to attend training with the U17 & U19.
Junior U13 & U15 Talent Identification is on Saturday 18th February 12.30pm.

The Senior competition is an open grade competition, and selection is made based on player abilities. In 2023, Wellington North Badminton will have teams competing in the following competitions:
This team will consist of elite performance players who are at the top of their games. Selected players are expected to train a minimum of two on-court sessions on Tuesdays 6pm-8pm and Saturdays 9am-11am AND one off-court physically conditioning session (day/time TBC). The team will consist of a min. of 3 men and 3 women (max. 6 men and 6 women), playing 2MS, 2WS, 2MD, 2WD, 4XD. Competitions will be played on Thursday 25th to Saturday 27th May 2023 in Auckland.
Talent Identification for this team is on Saturday 4th February 9.00am.

This team will consist of performance players who have a few years of competitive play under their belts. Selected players are expected to train a minimum of two on-court sessions on Tuesdays 6pm-8pm and Saturdays 9am-11am AND one off-court physically conditioning session (day/time TBC). Each team will consist of a min. of 4 men and 4 women (max. 6 men and 6 women), playing 2MS, 2WS, 2MD, 2WD, 4XD. Competitions will be played across 4-5 weekends in North Island locations. Proposed competition dates are:

Team(s) will consist of players who have a few years of competitive play under their belt or seasoned club players who want further challenge. Selected players are expected to train a minimum of one on-court session on Saturdays 11am-1pm AND one off-court physically conditioning session (day/time TBC). Each team will consist of a min. of 4 men and 4 women (max. 6 men and 6 women), playing 2MS, 2WS, 2MD, 2WD and 4XD. Competitions will be played across 5 weekends in Central Region locations (South of Gisborne and New Plymouth, excluding Taupo). Proposed competition dates are the same as North Island Division 3.

The Masters competition is catered for players aged 35 and above, and selection is made based on player abilities. In 2023, Wellington North Badminton will have teams competing in the following competitions:
This team will consist of performance players who (firstly meet the age requirement) have a few years of competitive play under their belts. Selected players are expected to train a minimum of one on-court session on Saturdays 9am-11am AND one off-court physically conditioning session (day/time TBC). Each team will consist of a min. of 4 men and 4 women (max. 6 men and 6 women), playing 4MD, 4WD, 4XD.
Competitions will be played across 4 weekends in North Island locations. Proposed competition dates are:

Each team will consist of a min. of 4 men and 4 women (max. 6 men and 6 women), playing 4MD, 4WD, 4XD.
Competitions will be played across 4-5 weekends in North Island locations. Proposed competition dates are the same as North Island Division 1 dates.

The Vet competition is catered for players aged 50 and above, and selection is made based on player abilities. In 2023, Wellington North Badminton will have teams competing in the following competitions:
This team will consist of performance players who (firstly meet the age requirement) have a few years of competitive play under their belts or seasoned club players who want further challenge. Selected players are expected to train once a week normally on Wednesdays, 7.30pm-9.30pm, and an off-court physical conditioning session is strongly encouraged. Each team will consist of a min. of 3 men and 3 women (max. 6 men and 6 women), playing 3MD, 3WD, 3XD. Competitions will be played across 4-5 weekends at either North Island or Central Region locations (South of Gisborne and New Plymouth, excluding Taupo). Proposed competition dates are:

Each team will consist of a min. of 3 men and 3 women (max. 5 men and 5 women), playing 3MD, 3WD, 3XD. Competitions will be played across 4-5 weekends at North Island locations. Proposed competition dates are:
